Adaptive Rowing Procedure Produces Amazing Results
Posted Wed, Oct 7th 2009, 07:59Here are links to a couple of videos on You Tube about Dave Estrada who is a paraplegic, has been for several years, and how he is using some modern technology combined with rowing to achieve some amazing results including bone re-growth. This is really great news for those affected by osteoporosis or forms of bone loss as it indicates that regular slide seat rowing will prevent or reverse this condition.

I loved this article and how fragile thin bone can be regrown to strong again through rowing. Thanks!

This is one of the most inspirational videos I’ve seen. Kudos to the professionals who developed this rowing machine, and to Dave for hanging in there and not resigning himself to wasting away. I love rowing, am almost 64 years old, have done everything in sports my entire life (competitive cycling, running, mountaineering to name a few) and rowing has taken over for me — I try to row as many days a week as possible, and live on a sailboat so it’s pretty easy to slip into my Whitehall! I plan on keeping a level of fitness as long as I can, and this video truly inspires me to never give up and take the easy path to the rocking chair!
